Physiotherapy Services

We use scientific treatment approach for patient’s early recovery and to achieve pain-free mobility. We provide our patient, physiotherapy service, through different physiotherapy techniques like:

Stretching Techniques

Poor flexibility can lead to impaired postural mechanism resulting in muscle and tendon strains, chronic pain, functional impairment and many more problems includind psyco-social problems. So we emphasize stretching.

During stretching we offer different stretching techniques like active, static, dynamic and neurofascilitation techniques (pnf).

By combining techniques that treat the muscular and neurological components help to improve both the flexibility and the mobility of the musculoskeletal system much quicker than typical static stretching alone.

We also educate patient about self stretching exercises and stretching using foam roller and balls.

Joint Mobilization

As for muscular component we use stretching, to achieve complete range of movement we apply joint mobilisation techniques for joints.

Not only for peripheral joints, but we use special mobilisation techniqus for spinal joints also.

These techniques not only reduces joint stiffnes but also helps reducing pain.

So helps to achieve painfree mobility.

Myofascial Release Techniques

Myofacial release (mfr) is a holistic, therapeutic approach to manual therapy. It offers a comprehensive approach for the evaluation and treatment of the myofascial system, the system of tissues and muscles in the body.

This technique is designed to release restrictins such as trigger points, muscle tightness, and disfunctions in soft tissue that may cause pain and limit motion in all parts of body. It has shown success in decreasing pain and increasing mobility.

The main tissueh that mfr focuses is the fascia. Fascia is a fine tissue that surrouunds all structurues in the body including muscles, nerves, vessels, and bones. Mfr allows us to evaluate, identify and treat fascial restrictions. These restrictions can be caused by numerous factors, such as trauma, musculoskeletal conditions, repeative stress syndrome, and poor posture.>br>
By applying gentle, hands on techniques positive structural changes may occure, such as increased range of motion, decreased pain, and, most importantly, increased fascial mobility. In combination with traditional physiotherapy, mfr can help patients return to their daily and recreational activities.

Kinesiotaping

Kinesiotapes are hypoallergic tapes and they have many sceintifically proved benefits. The kinesio taping is a therapeutic taping technique which alleviates pain and fascilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. It decreases the inflammation in affected areas. There are different methods of applying kinesio tape depending on the cause. It has the ability to reduce pain and inflamation, promote good circulation and can assist the body’s natural healing process. It can be used in conjunction with a multitude of other treatments and modalities and is effective during the rehabilitative and chronic phases on an injury as well as being used for preventive measures.

Balance Exercises

Balance training aim to:
- Strengthen balance control in everyday activities leading to improved fall related self-efficacy, reduced fear of falling and increased walking speed.
- Improve physical function
- Improve quality of life
Exercises that improve balance can help prevent falls, a common problem in many people e.g.
- Older adults
- Neuromuscular conditions (multiple sclerosis, parkinsonism, stroke)
- Cancer rehabilitation
- Amputees
- Obesity
- Back pain

Coordination Exercises

Coordination means the ability to exicute smooth, accurate controlled movements.

The cerebellum is the primary centre in the brain for coordination of movements and the ability to execute smooth accurate motor response.

Motor coordination to complete a task requires collaboration of three skills:
- Fine motor skill
- Gross motor skill
- Hand-eye skill
Coordination impairment is medically known as ataxia.
There are many reasons for ataxia like brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neuropathies, muscular sclerosis, parkinsonism, stroke, cerebral palsy and many more.

There are different tests to rule out coordination problems.

After assessing the problems, we plan different types of coordination exercises, pnf tehniques, sensory integration, frenkel's exercises, yoga.

We use different assistive devices, games to improve coordination.

Exercises to improve strength and endurance

We give different types of active, assited and resistive exercises as per individual’s requirements to improve strength and stamina.

Different theraputic modalities we use to create physiological effect.
The choice of modality to use, depends upon the condition to be treated, patient's need, and required goal. These are:
1. Electrical stimulation: different types of currents like TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) and IFT (interfarential current therapy) are used for the modulation of pain through stimulation of cutaneous sensory nerves causing analgesic effect. Surged fadic and galvenic currents are often used in cases like paralysis, nerve re-education, to improve strength in lower motor neuron cases.

2. Thermotherapy: includes warm hydrocollateral packs, paraffin baths. Which causes muscle relaxation, increased blood flow, increased elasticity of connective tissue and pain relief

3. Cryotherapy: includes ice massage, cold hydrocollateral packs, contrast bath. It causes decreased blood flow(within first 15 to 20 minutes) so reduces the potantial for edema to develop. It causes pain relief with decreased muscle spasm. (too frequent application can cause frostbite)

4. Ultrasound: it uses sound energy. It is a deep heating modality capable ofenhancing heating at the cellular level. It also helps tissue repair and aids pain relief. It helps reduce swelling through its heating mechanism

5. other modalities like SWD, IRR also brings about heating effect and relaxation

Cervical traction and lumbar traction

Static or intermitant traction is used in many spinal conditions like spondylitis, disk lesions to relieve effects of nerve compression and to relax tight paraspinal muscles.

CPM (Continuous Passive Motion)

is often used postoperatively for increasing range of motion at knee joint, in gradual relaxed manner

Frequently Asked Questions

  • 1) WHAT EXACTLY DOES A PHYSIOTHERAPIST DO?

Physiotherapists are healthcare professionals. They use therapeutic electrical modalities for pain management, and later through scientific exercise protocol they help achieving maximum functionality, so moving towards complete fitness of individual.

  • You no longer need a doctor’s referral before seeing a physiotherapist. It is possible that your insurance company may require you to see a physician and obtain a referral before seeing a physio. However, in the majority of cases, people are free to book an appointment directly without a note from their doctor

  • Physiotherapy is designed to treat you as an individual. A full assessment of your condition will take place on your first appointment. The Physiotherapist will do a physical assessment that will include tests on strength, range of motion, balance and other relevant specific tests to rule out the real cause of your problem. The physiotherapist will also review all relevant medical reports. Together with the client, the physiotherapist will set realistic and achievable goals. Your physio will begin by making a full treatment plan for your rehabilitation program and make a schedule of appointments.

  • It’s understandable that if we are in pain, we want to be cured right away. Many people seek out remedies that quick relief, and many people turn to medications that promise to eliminate your pain. These cures merely mask the pain and often force us into a continuing cycle of pain and drug use. Physiotherapy goes to the core underlying cause of your pain. Physiotherapy seeks a long-term solution to reducing pain naturally and permanently and so helps to avoid surgery. However in some cases, a physiotherapist can offer immediate relief from pain by using different modalities and techniques, that too without side effects.

  • Every case and every situation is different. So treatment may range from merely 7 days for acute symptoms or for some chronic pain syndromes or postoperative cases or neurological conditions it may goes upto 3-4 months also…but this depends upon different factors like age, complexity of condition and also depends on the duration of condition that means since how many days the patient is facing the current problems. The physio can only tell the frequency and duration of treatment only after proper physiotherapy assessment.

  • Not only is this not advisable it could be quite dangerous. Without a proper assessment, you will not know the true cause of your pain. The origin of your pain or restricted motion might be caused by something completely unrelated to the area you feel the pain or the restriction. For example, a misaligned hip can cause a sore knee, and a weak lower back can cause a sore shoulder. Youtube is an excellent resource if you plan on fixing your car or house, but it is no substitute when it comes to physiotherapy.
